RESOLUTION NO. 711
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE UNIVERSITY PLACE, WASHINGTON, DIRECTING THE PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION TO EXAMINE THE LONG RANGE PUBLIC SAFETY NEEDS FOR THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PLACE
WHEREAS, University Place is home to a regionally acclaimed School District, excellent parks, community events, and other community assets; and
WHEREAS, University Place neighborhoods, schools, parks and businesses thrive in areas where crime and nuisance activity is low, partnerships with police are present and problem oriented policing is practiced; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has set a 2013-2014 goal of “Increased Public Safety;” and
WHEREAS, one of the outcomes identified for the 2013-2014 goals is to “consider a resolution directing the Public Safety Commission (PSC) to examine the long range public safety needs.”
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PLACE, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS:
The Public Safety Commission is directed to examine the long range public safety needs in University Place.
