RESOLUTION NO. 844
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PLACE, WASHINGTON, RATIFYING THE ACTIONS OF THE CITY COUNCIL AD HOC COMMITTEE, APPROVING THE AD HOC COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES, AND DISSOLVING THE AD HOC COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, on July 17, 2017 the City Council adopted Resolution 843 placing an advisory ballot measure on the November 2017 general election ballot relative to fireworks. As part of that same Resolution, it appointed an ad hoc committee to make appointments identifying those who would write “for” and “against” statements which would appear in the voter’s guide relative to this advisory ballot measure; and
WHEREAS, the ad hoc committee met on Monday, July 24, 2017, and identified three individuals per side to write such statements; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to approve the minutes of said meeting, confirm those actions taken by the ad hoc committee and to dissolve the committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PLACE, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The July 24, 2017 meeting minutes of the City Council ad hoc committee formed pursuant to Resolution 843 are confirmed. Those actions taken by the ad hoc committee before the effective date of this Resolution are ratified, approved and confirmed. The City Council ad hoc committee shall be and hereby is dissolved.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AT AN OPEN PUBLIC MEETING ON AUGUST 7, 2017.
