RESOLUTION NO. 864
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PLACE, WASHINGTON, ESTABLISHING THE CITY COUNCIL’S COLLECTIVE GOALS AND OUTCOMES FOR THE 2019-2020 BIENNIUM
WHEREAS, the members of the University Place City Council have worked diligently to establish their collective City Council goals and outcomes for the City’s 2019-2020 biennium; and
WHEREAS, the City Council put special emphasis on prioritizing certain goals over others; and
WHEREAS, during the 2019-2020 biennium, the City Council in its sole discretion may add, remove or revise the matters included in these goals and outcomes by further resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to formally adopt the 2019 – 2020 City Council goals and outcomes to inform residents and provide policy guidance to the City Manager;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PLACE, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Adoption of Goals. The City Council, adopts in the order presented therein, as its 2019-2020 goals, those goals set forth on the attached Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2. Prioritization of Goals. Subject to other obligations and duties imposed upon the City, the first five goals appearing on the attached Exhibit A are hereby identified by the City Council as high priority action items, the review, analysis and conclusive determination of which will take precedence over other goals identified on the list. The remaining twelve goals will be reviewed by the City Council for action as budget, timing and other resources allow.
Section 3. Supplemental Grant of Authority. The City Council directs the City Manager, or his designee, to take any other and further actions deemed necessary to implement the policies and determinations of the Council consistent with the language of this Resolution.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption by the City Council.
