RESOLUTION NO. 892
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PLACE, WASHINGTON, DIRECTING THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION TO REVIEW CITY-INITIATED PROPOSED ZONING CHANGES TO THE COMMUNITY COMMERCIAL ZONE
WHEREAS, the City of University Place is currently in the process of reviewing and soliciting public input on changes to its zoning classifications in light of the adoption of the University Place Regional Growth Center Subarea Plan (the “Subarea Plan”) via Ordinance 698; and
WHEREAS, any such zoning changes which may be adopted will likely not occur until late 2019 or early 2020; and
WHEREAS, a potential need has been identified for interim zoning changes pending the completion of any zoning changes occasioned as a result of the Subarea Plan, and in particular, for the currently zoned Community Commercial Zones of the City; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PLACE, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Referral to Planning Commission. The City Council hereby directs the Planning Commission to seek public opinion, review and provide recommendations regarding whether interim zoning changes should be adopted, and if so, propose interim changes for the Community Commercial Zone, consistent with the Comprehensive Plan, pending completion of zoning review for the Subarea Plan.
Section 2. Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
