RESOLUTION NO. 910
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PLACE, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXPEND PREVIOUSLY BUDGETED FUNDS ON EVALUATING THE FEASIBILITY OF DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE CITY’S TOWN CENTER
WHEREAS, the 2019-2020 City budget contains Local Revitalization Funds, State grant funds and City matching funds for the development of City infrastructure on City-owned property within certain areas of the Town Center District; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to evaluate the feasibility of City infrastructure on Lot 1 of the Binding Site Plan for the University Place Town Center, Pierce Co. Tax Parcel No. 4002560011 (“Lot 1”) and within Homestead Park, and the effect of construction of City infrastructure on feasibility of private development on the remaining portion of Lot 1 that may be sold for private development; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the City Manager to utilize a portion of the funds previously budgeted for the foregoing purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY PLACE, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorization. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to expend an amount not to exceed $35,000 to engage professional consultant services to evaluate the feasibility of City infrastructure on and around Lot 1 and to evaluate the effect of construction of City infrastructure on the feasibility of private development of Lot 1 vis-à-vis Homestead Park.
Section 2. Effective Date. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption by the City Council.
